OK, here we go. Early odds:

Indy 5-1
New England 13-2
Pitt 10-1
Seattle 10-1
Denver 11-1
San Diego 23-2
Miami 15-1
Philly 16-1
Atlanta 17-1
NY Giants 18-1

6 of the 7 favorites are in the AFC. No surprise there. Miami is conspicuously low. The books must feel Saban will move the team forward again in his second year. They also aren't buying into the teams that took big steps forward this year, like Cincinnati and Chicago.

Living in Indiana, I hate to say anything to run down the Colts, but I'd bet against them at those odds. I think these last two years were their prime chances, and they blew them. I don't see the road getting any easier next year. They might do all right in the regular season, and even make the playoffs, but I don't see them going all the way.

Will the NFL have professional referees for that game?

Will the NFL have professional referees for that game?

I hope not. My Future bet on the Steelers would have been harder to cash with pro refs watching. Go Stealers.

KC not in the top ten??

If KC's new coach can get just a little defence on the field -- buy KC now at
an overlay. In my never to be humble opinion the media darling of the
moment, Chargers, will only be 8-8 again in '07.

The prices are set by linemakers, not the media. The Chargers are a more complete football team than the Chiefs, who have big issues with tackling properly.
