This I think was expected and part of the reason they needed the loan.

I don't think the loan was for that purpose, since they notified the State that they would not pay the tax on the last 2 months, until some future date. Whats interesting is that a Tax Warrant blocks the landowner from selling the property, which puts NYRA right back to square one, as they had intentions of selling acreage from AQU to settle their debt. My opinion, maybe Stronach (or others) are using what ever methods available to force the bidding on the franchise.

NYRA only has the franchise through December 31st 2007, so nobody has to force the bidding process, though the statute still has to be changed or nobody will want it.

Stronach is pretty much history after his presentation at the hearings a few weeks ago where he gave his thoughts on making Saratoga a year-round entertainment destination. He has alienated himself to every politico and their constituency in the entire upstate region.

Speaking of Stronach offspring, now that the Conservatives are back in power in Canada has Belinda switched back to the Tories?

Great! Andy will bring a Scores to every track. Very, very upscale, of course.
