A few days ago the NY Times did a front page story on the sell off of a bunch of stock about 10 or more years ago by Bush, whereby his attorneys or accounts, evidently, forgot to file some paperwork with the SEC. (This again deomonstrates how desperate the Dems are to manufacture anything that even hints at a scandal). But the Times very conveniently omitted three very salient little tidbits to the story.
First, they "forgot" to report that the paperwork that was inadvertently filed late was not the more important "intent to sell" forms (which were filed on time), but the notice to the SEC that the sales transaction had been completed.
Also, the Times left out the little detail that about the subsequent SEC investigation into the late filing, and how the SEC completely exonerated Bush from any wrongdoing.
Finally, the Times didn't tell its readers that about 9 months after the sell off, the stock more than doubled in value from the sell off price!
In short, what that Liberal Rag clearly wanted to
do was to skew the salient facts so badly so as to present Bush in the most unfavorable light as possible; and the paper had no compunctions whatsoever of lying by omission to achieve its objective!
The link below will reveal another story in which the anti-guns Times did essentially the same thing with another hot story -- this one dealing with guns in the cockpits.
Moral to the stories: If you like your news cooked, be sure to read a liberal rag. Even the most polished crooked accountants could still stand to learn tricks from the Times of the world.
