I'll come up with my top 3 list on the first Friday in May. Too early to worry about right now.

FAR TOO EARLY

Considering my recent dismal efforts to find the Derby winner. I'll take my lead from CJ and wait for the first SUNDAY in May. And I'm still likely to get it wrong.

T.Times today says Brother Derek had foot problems. Should I keep watch on that? Do any tracks outlaw glue-ons?

Guys,

I wanted to get some of your input on Sorcerer's Stone. He has won every race he's been in except for an injury in the BC Juvenile. For some reason, his name just keeps running in my head. He has resumed training and ran 4 in 48 4/5 if I'm not mistaken.

Holy Bull could be fascinating with Barbaro running against Flashy Bull who I took in my futures wager at 30-1. I was close to pulling the trigger on a West Point Thoroughbred but didn't. I like him more b/c of his stable but his 2nd in the Remsen was pretty impressive. Makes Bluegrass Cat look pretty good but a lot of time to go.

do u like flashy bull, or were the odds to hard to ressit

RuffianSam

The odds weren't the best because a couple weeks earlier someone got him at 150-1 at the Wynn in Vegas. I think he's got a chance and with Giacomo winning last year(same sire!) who knows.

I put him on alert a week before Breeders Cup. He's impressive to watch.
I'm looking forward to his return. He'll need to prove himself over two turns
and maybe a late developer. I had expected him to have raced by now or
within the next 7 to 10 days or so. If he isn't injured, he should really come
to the races on the muscle. Hope he looks the part.

SORCERER'S STONE worked 3f ft in :35.80 B (1/6) at GP, 02/03/06.

I would have rather seen a work at 5F in :59 or so. 3F breezes look like ouch
runs to me. They breeze him 3 then look him over for whatever problem there
may be.

OTOH These works may just be cranking him up for an ALW sprint in the next few days. He needs to show up in a race next week or I'll have to lower my expectations for his return.

I should have double checked the workout tab before I made the post but hopefully he's working himself in well and getting ready. I think he could definitely be a factor. If you can look past the juvenile where he was "injured" then he is undefeated. Anyway, a long time to go yet.

Look at Pletcher face in that picture. That's the face of someone who badly needs to take a dump.

Murph-

The one negative I see on Sorcerer's Stone is the pace in the AP-Wash Futurity wasn't that quick. They went faster in the Lassie although the final time was quicker in the males division. The injury in the BC also begs the question did he get hurt because he was struggling against superior animals?

Sorceror's Stone is off the trail.

For now, I'd have to rate Lawyer Ron 1st.

That would be something if an Oaklawn based horse won a Triple Crown race for the 3rd year in a row. Maybe they'd finally get some respect from the East and West Coast media.

Looks like a large west coast bias in that top ten... to be very honest, I don't see the West Coast producing the Derby winner. The east is ultra-deep.

this guy Achilles of Troy looked good today in his stakes "work out," but this one will require a bit more maturity although this one is developing like a good three year old should. Today under Dominquez he was a push button accelerator, but this field was not that contentious

I dunno 46zilzal, they are pushing this horse and he ran away from a ny-bred who can't put races back to back except today. I think Troy falls flat on his face soon enough (not Pedersen's fault)..

I dunno, but, when I saw Corinthian run and duke it out with jazil a few weeks ago, I got impressed. He was prepping of course , but off the layoff, he had a less than stellar trip and was wheeled out and fought. I liked that and that he is not a speedball type. Hope he runs in the FOY.
