I don't know if this event will stay on the turf, and I'm not sure it matters. I'm strong on #7, Winning Stripes. The DRF comment on this 6yo Candy Stripes gelding's most recent outing reads "lost punch late," but it appeared to me that this W. J. Morey, Jr. charge was full of run when he encountered significant traffic trouble as he was about to join the fray in mid-stretch on 16Dec05 at Golden Gate. He's trained well since, and there may be conditioning issues with Gold Ruckus, a runner that's at least twice finished ahead of Winning Stripes. I'll go with Winning Stripes, trusting he'll be a square price and find a way to get his picture taken for the first time in more than two years.
