Need Help from Sooners

Just found out that I'm being transferred in about three months from my current location in southern Indiana to McAlester, Oklahoma, in the southeastern part of the state. Are there any board members from the general area who can offer observations/recommendations on nearby communities for a family of three with a high-school sophomore daughter to live in? Is McAlester itself my best bet from an overall housing/schools/shopping/cost standpoint? (And -- most important -- where can I buy a Racing Form? :)) Thanks.

When you click on the school district page (as it will be with each school district), you should click on the Test Scores link to see how it looks (sorry, but McAlester doesn't have any data). Nearby cities (within 10 miles) are: Savanna, Krebs, Alderson, Crowder, Haileyville, Hartshorne, Kiowa and Pittsburg.
