Here's a ticket for only $1,120:

2,6,11,12 // 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,10 // * // 9 // 3 // 5,10. :)

Want to cut it down by $1,100? Pick-four:

* // 9 // 3 // 5,10. ;)

4,6,7,9,12/4,5,6,7,8/5,7,9,10/9/2,4,6,8,9/7,10/ Good Luck, its another tough card. Feel free to piggyback my picks...especially anyone that has lost money from the BRIS Players Pool.;)

I might take a shot on this at lunch today....sure there is an NYCOTB around here somewhere.....I won't spread near as much as most for 2 reasons

a) Don't have that kinda cash
b) I don't like spreads of more than 3 in any multi race wager generally

so here is my bargain basement ticket

3 // 5,6 // 5,10 // 4,6,9 // 6,9 // 6,10

which is all of a $96 ticket

I think there may be a lot of singles on the 9 in the 6th race (as has been evidenced already here) but though I'm sure he's a deserving favorite, I think he can be beaten here.

Oops, see the 3 is out of the first leg...will have to re figure later

Hmmmmmm....NYCOTB won't take SA til 2:30 or so, so I guess its just academic now.

Thank you! Maybe there will be a couple of scratches!LOL!!
Oh Well, maybe there will be a big pick-6 at BM with small fields!

Here is how I would design a few tickets

8//5-6//1,3,6,8,11//4-9//1-4//7-6 = $160

5-7//5-6//1,5,7,9,10,11//4-9//3-9//10-12 = $384

11-12//8-10//1,5,7,9,10,11//4-9//6-9//10-10 = $384

Total $928

I would never play this amount in tickets but if I had to choose which one to play I would play the third one, knowing that the first ticket holds the better plays.

rrpic6,

I noticed, belatedly, that your ticket included all my own selections except for #1 in the 7th, Geronimo. Do you recall why you eliminated him?

tough start to the sequence. $51, followed by a $10 horse, beating a 7/5. I had the 10 in the 3rd, that was making some ground at 23/1, but couldnt get there for me. Alive to some 5/6 tickets :) Might be big tomorrow if we can get another price in the sequence, or some beaten favs.

Sitting here in my room at the Wynn hotel in Vegas, raiding the mini bar and crying in my drinks. I missed the SA pick six by one horse. I missed the 7th race.

At least stay here is comped and have free tickets to the Morales/Paquiao fight tomorrow night. Then fly home Sunday.

Oh well. At least drinks are free...just don't think I can drink $70,000 worth..LOL

I'd rather lose in the 7th than the last. I still see Eddie D. standing up, more than usual, on his horse, coming down the stretch in a turf race, not wanting to sqeeze thru on the rail. He finally went to the rail, but would not drive on thru. He finishes 2nd by half a length. Pic 6 pays 40K, with the winner of the last race having similar odds. I also lost a smaller pic 6 in the last race when Kent D. tried to play Superman by being overaggressive. He tries to split horses with his horse rolling down the lane in a turf race. There was so much room on either side and he would have still won going away. But as he splits horses, one of them veers in and clips heels, sending Superman flying, along with all my papers and tickets on my desk at an OTB. He broke his wrist trying to showboat.

I know this is horseracing...but the Thomas&Mack arena at UNLV was packed and the Paquaio/Morales fight was stupendous. Almost made missing the SA pick 6 ok.

Had a great time and won some money playing poker:jump: ...lost it on the horses.:bang: ..but that's Vegas I guess.

Comment:
I'm not rrpic6 and this is long after Friday, but I've got a note that prints out everytime that I print my stuff for Geronimo.....It says, "Horse does not like to run inside of other horses."

He drew the one-hole in this one saved ground every step of the way but couldn't get by on the inside in spite of having room to do so. I didn't play the P6 but I wouldn't have used Geronimo either!

rrb,
Thanks for heads-up. That really was "inside information!" ;)

The chief still doesn't owe me money, but I won't be yelling his name on the way down anymore.

Hey Rich,

I don't have the pp's in front of me or specific notes on the horse in question. I do remember eliminating Geronimo from the win spot simply becuz I felt the 1 mile distance was not really his cup of tea. If I am remembering correctly his wins(strong efforts) had been coming on the downhill course going 6 1/2. He may indeed not like to race inside other horses &/or might not have much late kick going the distance of 8 furlongs.

On that note I think I'll put him in the horse watch & see where he surfaces next. :) :)

I'm on this one.

4 people (tickets) at $151,000. Someone was on it. (not me, Nuts try again) In spite of the fact the first two races, the winner was a long shot The 3rd race paid over $90.00

The previous responses were about last Friday's Carryover. The winner of this Friday's 3rd race was an Unusual Heat sired horse trying the turf for the 1st time. Quite a good angle in So Cal. John White from HRTV loves that angle.
I never did answer Indulto's question about not using Geronimo in last week's big pic 6 carryover. Others did and gave very good answers. My gut feelings were right that day, as I thought the 3rd and 7th races looked like the races to beat favorites. Terroplane was the shortest odds of the higher odds horses I used in the 7th. As others have stated, Geronimo is a 61/2 specialist not a miler. I think the morning line was 7/2. The morning line being, of course, what the public believes and would bet. Plus he's a 7 year old that was returning from a layoff. He did run well tho. Put him on your watch list.

Geronimo is entered to run Sunday, Race 2 @ Santa Anita.

Daytona Handicap - about 6 1/2 furlongs on the Hillside Turf Course.
