I just have to share this with you guys.
Our 17-year old son asked us casually if he could host an impromptu birthday party for one of his friends. Knowing his 4 or 5 closest friends (including the birthday guy) we said it was okay.
So, off we go to dinner and a movie with some friends, completely forgetting about the party.
We come home around 10pm to find the street lined with cars. This is when we remember the party for the first time since saying, "Yes," earlier in the day.
So, we come in and the party is going full blast - not an ounce of booze, not whiff of pot, not a single person even looking high, not even a single cigarette. Just 30 or so kids having - get this - a fondue party!
They are playing music and singing and having a great time.
Okay, so our son is a bit of a nerd... currently ranked #1 is his senior class (okay, he is tied with about 20 others - at least half of which were at the party)... but my point is, these kids are... what do I call them? Normal? Nice? I don't know, but it gives me hope for the future when I see kids like these.
Regards to all,
Dave
