Those of you that might be traveling this weekend be sure to stay close to a track.Those are the ONLY places that will cash a travelers check.Last year I took a vacation and remembering what Karl Malden said,I loaded up on travelers checks.Every time I needed cash,I would go to a bank to cash a couple.Without fail,the first question I would get is "do you have an account?".
If I could get them to cash one it would be a limit of 100 dollars.Sometimes they wouldn't cash under any circumstances.
I ended up going to Lone Star and asking to get cash.No problem,the clerk said "those are the same as cash".Same story at SHRP.I ended up cashing all my checks there and risking the rest of my vacation and trip home with a wad of money on me.
