Anyone have a clue what it takes for a horse to actually be DQed in SoCal?

I bet neither horse involved in today's 6th, so it didn't matter, but I haven't seen many more apparently obvious DQs in a while.

I needed the #1 for a great pick 3 and I really feel he should have been put up. The pick 3 was coming back a very generous $153 with a $2.60 4th winner and a $5.40 5th race winner. I only used #1 and #2 in the back as I thought it was the only value horses in the pick 3

Oh well maybe I'll hit the pick 4 tomorrow in the contest :p

I had the 4 in the pick 4, and of course the other 3 legs were a little chalky, but the 1 at 10/1 would have been nice. I saw the first replay and thought that I had to be put up. Then vic said that there would be no change. I was amazed. They said the 1 initiated contact, though I didnt see it that way.

cj,

Apparently, a horse needs Victor E. on its back, with the added proviso that he not interfere with anybody. THEN they'll consider a takedown.

Me either. Favorite drifted out and he even called it that way.

Is it going to take a dead jockey before the stewards take somebody down? Looks like . . .

doesn't anyone realize the #1 job requirement of stewards @ hol park
is :

Must be blind

must place discreet bets so when your horse is involved in a potential
dq, your identity is covered.

finally, never dq a stronach horse

Let's look at this closely:

Hol - not ruf races this fall.
SA - No make up turf races

The stewarts must have smoked all the gass in Cally-for-nya!

Maybe a bad call from the Stewards-get over it <g>. It is part of the joy of horserace betting.

Yeah, who needs competence when your cash is on the line? :p

Kitts was right, if slightly blunt. I've seen WAY too many takedowns, now you all are advising of deserved putups. That should tell us what level of competence we're dealing with. If we can't exactly "get over it," we CAN remind ourselves going in. Maybe SA will miraculously blossom under good stewardship. It should be a fresh crew, right?

My friend is a joker but he swears the top Steward at Hollywood works from home sometimes as he's all wired up there. Can this be true?

Isn't Darrell McHargue one of the stewards at Hollywood?
