After 2hrs 45min of practice, you improved 5'. It's not the improvement that is impressive it's the perseverence. :D

Okay, my 7 year old walked in, played the game about 5 more times and did a 321.1 to beat my old record of 316.0 (his was 316.3). Probably picks the ponies better than me too.

I matched Andicap and Buddha exactly (323.5). (Maybe that's an upper limit.) Really makes you appreciate Howard Cosell's comment that the most difficult skill in all of sport is hitting a penguin....er, I mean baseball.

Started the day sitting in holiday traffic in Paterson NJ
making a delivery. I found the Lou Costello Memorial Park

Ended the day trying VERY hard to smack a penguin
past 325

I'm a baaad Boy :)

It appears that the optimal penguin flight for max distance is just slightly less than 188.9ft, probably 188.5.

Ah, I got over 200 on the fly, but you're right -- the key is to hit line drives so the little critter skids much of the way. The one I hit for the fences had the perfect match of flight and skid. I am retiring on top.

"Niagra Falls!! Slowly I turned, step by step, inch by inch ....

Yes you can fly him further, but you want to fly him just up to the "lawn dart" point without going over. I still haven't figured out exactly where that crossover is, but 188.9 is the shortest fly where I got him to stick.

Good thing they used a penguin instead of a clown. Embarassing enough to say one's "Slapped The Penguin" half the day. ;)

Self-correction (before someone beats me to it): Apparently, the quote about hitting a baseball consistently being the single most difficult skill in sport was attributed to Ted Williams.

Huh? He hasn't gotten it to 323.5 like a few of us. -- Or do you mean his Abbott & Costello impression? That, I agree is a good line.

It gotten to the point of looking for a way to stop the penguin on the drop down a freeze frame method
till I can inch it down to smack it at the precise point to optimize
Velocity and Deceleration
maybe I can import this into Val 3

209 on the head first is impressive! The best I've been able to do there is 206.7. I've had a few that I was sure were going to bounce and go forever, only to stick nose down in the snow.

I've gotten pretty good at predicting my score after watching the initial flight after I hit the bird. Guessing about 7 of 10 times I can predict my score within 5-10 points, sometimes hit it on the whole number.

Tom

ls.....hit <prt scr> then go to Paint, or some other image prgram and <paste>

I use Paint, then save as a jpeg, crop the screen shot, and save again, resizing to under 30 kb for posting.

You can past to Word or Excel as well.
