Thankyou,Its nice for this guy to finally win, He is a "Weekend Warrior".He always shows up to run, Loves the mile, Hates the 1 turn races. He is a "Need to lead" horse..He is a very special guy in our stable, We just love him, e doesnt win a lot, He most always picks up a check,He is a vey exciting horse to watch race. Now I have another dilemma...This was going to be his last race, I ws going to send him to the farm to give him a break,He just keeps getting better, After 18 starts,Every 8-10 days..He loves the action, He is a true,"Weekend Warrior"

Tom, Congrats on the win.
Question: Why do some horses prefer two turns to one? I can see why some hate the turns but not why they would rather run two turns. Is it because the one-turn races generally have a faster pace?

Tom, Congrats on the win.

The best horses that do this I find are the older classy sprinters, Horses that used to go 22-45-110..Time and old injuries catch up with them and they just cant run that fast anymore, Put them in going 1 mile and they will make the lead with the softer fractions, Make them very brave and really restores the old horse's confidence, This horse that won yesterday is a perfect example of this..So if you see a classy sprinter going a mile,He may take the lead and go all the way..I hope this helps,
Seems to me that the old horses (we have them up to 15 winning at FL) are all routers. I always thought - JMHO- that the races was slow enough early to let them "loosen up" and then make a late move or sustain an early one. No fast spurts like in sprints.
