Anybody going to Hawthorne's NTRA Buy-In Qualifier this weekend? I'm in, will likely be in the Handicapping Center and all over the 3rd floor that day. Say Hi if you're going there! (If you're not entered, I'm sorry, the entries have already closed.)

My friend (and co-owner) won that tournament. He hit the $36 winner on race 1 and was never headed.

It was great to see Cal win it! Sure hope he does great in Vegas!

Speaking of that tourney, I think that winner who paid $36 was suspicious......and no, I can't prove it. I talked to Cal and he said the reason he liked the filly was she looked great on the track....which just furthers my suspicions. Here's a filly who was getting beaten like a drum at 4000; was 8th behind 3 of those same runners on Nov 3 and now runs a number worthy of a 40000 filly, not a 4000 horse. She did have some back numbers which said she could be a factor but nothing like what she ended up running. I'm real curious to see how she runs next time.
