I can do most of my calculations in Access..dont know VBA, but may eventually learn it. I have had to balance time spent on learning access, and time handicapping...and can now more or less return to full time handicapping(I hope).

But I have two questions:

1)In design view with my query I can comfotably make most of my needed calculations, but how do I add up the class field? It has text in front of it.
2) And, if so, is it possible at my non-sql/non VBA stage of development to convert
a cell from Alw40,000 to just 80,000 (e.g. 2x40,000) before I add -up?

Thanks for any help

I have an annoying habit of finding out the answers after posting the question with no-one replying. Perhaps my wife is right when she says I talk to Harvey the pink rabbit toomuch. Anyway I figured out the answer..the data base I am using has already done the wrok for me.
