Look at the results of GG rolling DD on the 5th and 6th races. The winner of the 5th paid $36.20 and the winner of the 6th paid $24.20. $2 DD paid $41. The results say the payoff is from the correct numbers only. This doesn't appear to be a consolotion double that no one had. Any explanations?

DRF has the same payoff, $41.00 I think they left off a zero.

I just checed Youbet's payoffs, it was $41 and the will pays say the same. The horse was played big time in that pool but not in the win pool, big chalk ran out but the chalk DD would have paid $165.00. ??

The double pools are weird there, about a week and a half ago, they had a
6.00 horse and 254.00 horse pay 221 for the double, then the 254.00 horse with the 5.60 horse in the next race paid 911.

Hi all,

Speaking of Daily Doubles....how many of you still play this wager? I've always been a fan and play it every chance I can. Even though my moniker is Trisuper, I play the double more than any other bet. The only ticket I cashed on BC day was the Shirocco/St. Liam late double.

According to Sam Spear, our local replay show host, A very large 2-2 double ticket was put in by a lone bettor at Arlington Park for those races.

DD's and the picks are great bets, picking winners is the name of the game along with finding the contenders. Solid win bets with good value are tough to come up with so when the opertunity is there, don't hesitate to unload in the DD's or whatever type of wager fits your game.

Good luck,

T.D.

I'd guess offhand that the big bettor had $200 on the combination. Not unusual for numbers players to put $200 on something like 2-2. I see it in SoCal all the time.

Yeah, looks like at least $200 worth on the winning combo. I get 144 winning tickets on a DD that looks like it should’ve only had somewhere between 20 and 40.

Wow. The $2 parlay between those 2 races is around $432. That bettor from AP must have been really pissed when he only got 1/10th of what a straight parlay would pay.Loss of approxametly $39,000 for a $200 double as opposed to a straight parlay.

I wonder if the bettor realized how small the pool was going to be? There was only $5,940 (after take) to be had. The early and late DD pools were about 4 or 5 times that much.

You can expect to see this kind of thing more and more. I saw this kind of thing happen at jai-alai where the WPS pools were pretty much ignored. There, you couldn't put enough money into WPS to take advantage without killing the WPS prices also IMO.

There was also some race last week (IIRC) at GGF where the chalk won, the second chalk placed, and the exacta paid much less than the win price of 5.80 or so. There's your example of somebody's good handicapping but bad betting.
