The folks running that outfit are shameless hucksters -- or brilliant marketers, you make the call.

My guess is that they couldn't come up with a quarter of a billion to buy NYRA -- but they can come up with a few paragraphs of copy to send off to a PR distribution outfit in order to try and drum up some headlines that provide them with free publicity.

Thankfully the media seems wise to the ploy and the story wasn't picked up by anyone that I read.

This is the same outfit that flew a plane over Saratoga this summer (and they've flown over other tracks) reading, "Why bet at the track?"
