Well, Finger Lakes just opened last month and already they are cancelling cards (Sunday) due to lack of horses.
The oterh day, they ran a three-horse field, longest shot on the board was 9-5. Last year, they cancelled Sundays towards the end of the season.
Give them credit, at least they have the sense to take some action. Used to be that the greatly inflated NYBred purses made this place a gold mine for third rate trainers and horses (and worse-Zippy Chippy came from here).
Now, their purses are piddling compared to some other tracks with similar horses.
On the bright side, we are finally getting simulcasting year round soon-already on dark days. Welcome to the year 2001, western NY-it's about time.
I wonder how many horse players we have already lost due to total greed by the morons at Western Regional OTB and thier "special betting district?"
Oh, BTW, andicap....OTB is opening Batavia Downs-a harness track run by an OTB. Though you might be interested in seing this, since you are getting into the jugheads. A two horse race with no winner!
LOL
Good luck at ole Hilltop today. Track looks wet this morning on the ESPN show at 9am....hmmmmmm, Tomlinson numbers?
