My own program picks Borrego for the Classic, but its forte isn't stakes races.

My program, HTR, doesn't pick the horses.

I do.

My computer likes St. Liam (based on the lowest fair odds it generates). Using my computer, I would play Sir Shackleton if the odds hold. I would also look at Flower Alley seriously. Please note that my computer doesn't stake the bankroll, therefore can be a bit irresponsible at times  .

Just did the BC Classic with CJ's program (figs) and I have come to the following conclusions:

a) Saint Liam isn't dominating enough to warrant betting at anywhere near his morning line....

b) Perfect Drift might be the perfect price/ability horse in the Classic. He has the ability, and he will be a price. Plus he's the perfect kind of "off the radar" horse....

c) Borrego is a scary horse, but won't be a big enough price to warrant the risk.

I guess what I'm trying to say is Perfect Drift is probably going to be my main bet in the Classic....

Belmont- 5th- Profiler selects #10 on top and it has profitable running style. Belmont- 8th- Profiler selects #3 on top and it has profitable running style. Belmont- 9th- Profiler selects #8 on top and it has profitable running style. Belmont-10th-Profiler selects #14 on top and it has profitable running style. This is the only way to be at least fair to the program to provide a selection on top which also matches a profitable running style for the race in question. Any races listed with Foreign horses might be affected such as 5th race #13. 9th race #3. 10th race #4. Just a little food for thought. Hope these help and good luck to all.

Equisim likes the usual suspects until you go back to Saratoga on the 8 horse. The horse stumbled last out..........in spite of Prado's record in the BC I love Suave at a price.................

Suave!

Turfbar--I don;t see how you think TMH points to #7 Super Frolic.

If you look at the odds, it picks
Perfect Drift
Sait LIam
Super Frolic
Choctaw Nation
Suave

If you look at PPF it points to
Perfect Drift
Sait LIam
Borego
Choctaw Nation
Sup[er Frolic

SO maybe Super Frolic is certainly a possibnle bet based on the odds...but there are many posibilities.

Goood luck, Cato

i used the s.f. in the first/2nd and third positions, keying it
with flower ally, barago and perfect drift.

oh yes,as a single in the double .pick three and 4

and naturally, like a moron, went 13-9-7/13-9-7/11-5-6 in the supers

check out coa's ride...on the turn, it looked like s.f. was going to win or place

can't believe how this horse lost the show spot

ugh.......

HTR features several pace lines. How do you use them to pick the winners? Thanks.

andicap
11-01-2005, 02:56 PM
It took me a while to figure it out but I finally have a method of using HTR that I use consistently. If anyone wants to hear it more indepth please email me and I'll be happy to share it.

Short version: I look for the best paceline in the last 90-120 days or so -- with considerations for layoffs, surface, distance, etc. -- and try to keep it to the past 3 races if possible. I use the Impact ratings to get contenders and set the PLs.
I do a pace analysis to see if its early, late or "honest." I might change a PL if the pace of race is unrealistic. I like horses who have been chasing fast paces and not disgracing themselves.
I eliminate the early/late horses at a pace disadvantage.
I quickly check form cycles, any bias, changes in jockeys, trainers, the HTR workout number. Is there a "Super-Trainer" wild card in here?
See if other longshot non-contenders have a pace advantage and consider it for exotics.

Bottomline: I look at my top 2 longshots and evaluate them to see if one or two are worthy of keying. I might also use a lower-priced overlay if he has a real pace advantage, bias in favor, and sharp form cycle or has a good WO number.

I haven't used Impact since the dos version....kind of got lost in the shuffle.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on it.
So much there, it's hard to use it all! (nice problem, eh?;) )

Hey Cato guess u never got my e-mail so I 'll ask my question
here I was reading old posts and you were talking about Jim Bradshaws work the
"match_up" is their a definition for that match-up, I am trying to find if anyone agrees with my theory of velocity match-ups, and what their perception is.
