Bobby Frankel entered his horse after witnessing how hard War Emblem was pulling in the Preakness. He felt his unwillingness to rate/relax would hurt him at the longer distance. If you read the drf article in the sat form, the subject was about how WE had developed prior to being sold to Baffert.
The previous connections (trainer/jockey) all noted how hard if was to get WE to relax. I also read a a comment by Steve Cauthurn, who felt that horses who fight their jockeys like WE would have a hard time with the Belmont distance.
I think for Espinosa it was a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario, if he sends the horse he very likely could burn the horse up in the pace. Then topic of discussion would be why didn't he rate WE.

And deprive all the second-guessers on this board of their fun? That's what we love about this so much -- we're all armchair trainers and jockeys.
