Great Hotel, only thing is that you are a taxi ride away from the strip. The simulcast center is ok. If I were you, I would get a cheap place on the strip and take the bus to the Belagio racebook. I hear the Palms has a good book as well.

Best bet for me is get somewhere fairly cheap, like Circus Circus, Riviera, or Stardust, then taxi to Bellagio, hands down best sports book I found. MGM isn't bad either. On the other hand, I do nothing but shower and sleep in my room, so its not important to me.

The Orleans along with the other "Coast" properties (Gold Coast, Barbary Coast and SunCoast) are the best bet for horseplayers in terms of earning comps, room credits, getting casino rates, etc.

They are one of the few hotels that publish their complete comp menu for horseplayers. This is a carryover from the old Sands racebook and Bob Gregorka who is now at Orleans.

Sign up when you get there for a Turf Club membership card and give it to the clerk whenever you make a bet. It's not as plush as some of the high-end strip places, but it's not shabby either. Good buffet and great-looking cocktail waitresses.....Rooms are nice.

I HAVE STAYED TWICE AT THE ORLEANS, AND ITS AN OK PLACE TO BE-- THEY DO TAKE CARE OF THE HORSE PLAYERS, AND THEY HAVE A SHUTTLE THAT GOES TO THE BARBARY COAST ON THE STRIP AND TO THE GOLD COAST, WHICH IS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE PALMS, WHICH I ALSO THINK HAS A NICE SPORTS BOOK
