Just curious. Does anyone know if any U.S. betting company allow Canadians to join as a member? I know for sure that oneclickbetting.com doesn't.

Thanks,

I used to have accounts at Philly Park, Connecticut and Youbet. All have gradually cancelled them and refunded the balances. Brisbet and Xpressbet won't take my application. I think it's nationwide, thus a tax reporting issue.

On the other hand, Pinnacle and Woodbine (in Canada) are happy to take my money (I mean my wagers).

By getting yourself a PO Box in Montana and sign up for a Youbet account. Hmmm... on second thought that might not work because I think you also need a US Social Security number.

Curious as to why you would want to. Is it because HPIbet sucks? About the only good thing that's happened lately is common pool wagering on some of the US tracks.

HPI is brutal...Lacks consistency...And in my case even though i can go to Flamboro, out money in and take money out..In inelegible for any HPI rebates( not that theres alot) because i live in Flams similcast area unless i bet through my account at either Woodbine or Mohawk!

Pinnacle on the other hand allows me far more choice as to what tracks i can play..aswell im not discriminated on where i live for the rebates!

My friends in Canada use betfair, the ultimate rebate on win bets.

HPI cut off all the U.S. residents in August has that changed?

Hmm...let's see now...

1. U.S racetracks complain about competition from offshore racebooks, but don't want to compete with the offshore racebooks by reducing their track takeouts and/or breakage rates, or give a higher percentage of player point rewards to their customers.

2. Some U.S. States don't want to allow online gambling on horse races, yet they probably complain that they don't collect enough revenue each year to pay for the services they provide. Do these States believe that online gambling is sinful, but that gambling in person at a racetrack, casino, or bingo parlor is righteous? I don't get it. I'm assuming the States that don't want to allow online gambling, would probably rather increase taxes and/or user fees on other things to provide extra revenue.

3. U.S. betting companies don't allow Canadians to join because of State and/or Federal regulations. Why is that? Probably you have to go back to item 2 above.

--My opinion on this...It reminds me of the title of that Jim Carrey movie...
'DUMB AND DUMBER'...tsk! tsk! Oh well, no problem, as a Canadian I can still use HPI and a few offshore racebooks for tracks that HPI doesn't carry.

Just curious. How many of the US tracks carried by HPI share into a common pool? I got tired betting into the much, much smaller anadian pools years ago and haven't considered it since.

HPI interactive website or www.675bets.com tells which ones are co-mingled, but payoffs can differ both ways. The other day at Belmont, the on course price for a winner was 7/2 but they paid 6/1 so it goes both ways. There are a LOT of bridge jumpers in those pools, MANY from Hastings and Fraser Downs OTB
