Equibase has changed the “Track Designator” for Oak Tree @ Santa Anita from “SA” to “OSA”. As a result, you will be unable to create RaceMaker files without some modification to the “raw” data. This raw data are the files created using the “Export all races” function in Handicappers Daily.

Below are some simple instructions for converting the raw data into a usable format.

There are 5 daily files used to create RaceMaker files. They are located in C:/HDRF

As an example, Oak Tree files for opening day are:
EOSA0928.C05, EOSA0928.E05, EOSA0928.H05, EOSA0928.R05, and EOSA0928.W05

1) Right-click on each file and select “Open With”

2) Choose Word Pad from the “Open with” dialog box and check “Always use this program…”

3) Once opened click “Edit” and choose “Replace”

4) Next to “Find” enter “OSA”

5) Next to “Replace with” enter “SA” then click “Replace all”

After the change is made close the window and close/save the file.

Repeat these steps for all 5 files.

Return to RaceMaker and create your RaceMaker files.

I will be posting a permanent “fix” as soon as possible.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

EB strike again - another meaningless change that causes problems for people.
It is amaziong how fast all the little data wannabe's jumped in line toi make this totally useless change. Consider how long it took racestracsk to agree on same color saddle cloths, someting abviously usefull to most fans and it hard to take this industry seriously - run by dolts and "nephews."
