Irishlad,

With regard to your ABC P3 betting structure, did you have any where your A picks won all three races?

Very, very nice numbers for the Saratoga meet.

Irish,

Nice Work!!

Could you please remind me of the ABC system. I know I saw it somewhere on the board, but I can't seem to locate.

Thanks.

Yes, very impressive numbers for sure!

One thing I was curious about - what are the advantages of structuring the bets in the way you described here versus just playing ABC/ABC/ABC? At first glance, it would seem that ABC/ABC/ABC would be better because you have a smaller total outlay ($27 vs. $35) for the same coverage? On the surface, it looks like it would have increased your profit by $1,608 if you were saving that $8 per bet.

That is because if more than one "a" pick wins --you hit the ticket twice--if all three "a"s win then you have it three times--I play the pick 3 like this also but I exclude the BC/BC/BC and hope I'm good enough to hit one of my "a" picks.

Aaaah I see - that's pretty good - I never thought of that.
Makes a lot of sense too.
Thanks.

I would be curious as to how many BC/BC/BC --tickets hit?

I like this technique and use a variation of it on days where I like what I see for multirace wagers. I always add to it a $5 A/A/A ticket too and will set the # 1, 2 , and 3 bets at $2 if I can eliminate at least 1 of the Cs. I only will expand to at most 4 horses in a leg if I can single in another. Also occasionally I will play a stucture that has AAC in a leg, so 2 on top in one leg. All and all though, this technique has given me some of my best days.
