Picks for Saratoga Monday:
R1 #1 Fiddler’s Cat-Ran an improved race in his second off a layoff last out. He earned a good fig for that and should be tough here if he runs that back.
R2 #1 Unswept-Returns from what was probably a needed freshening after he tailed off formwise. Has won his only start on this surface.
R3 Pass-ML fav looks tough
R4 #10 Rectory Hill-Ran well on this course last year. He must have had a mishap sometime during or after forcing the layoff, but the frequent drills suggest everything is ok now.
R5 #5 The Trip Continues-Earned a competitive fig when making a 3 wide move on the turn in his debut. Returned with a decent drill since. Expect better today.
R6 #5 Dynergy-Returns to turf after a couple of failed dirt attempts. He showed good early speed in his last race, his second after adding blinkers. Hopefully he’ll show that early lick today as there isn’t that much speed signed up.
R7 #6 Onemorefashion-Changed tactics and came from off the pace last out. Ran decently, and similar tactics may be employed today. Longshot play.
R8 #2 Banyu Dewi-Probably not the soundest of runners, but seems to have some ability. An honest effort will put him close.
R9 #3 Run Through the Sun-Looking for continued improvement with top barn.
