Picks for Del Mar Saturday:
R1 #4 Valleys Passion-Retaken by West after he was claimed in his first off a layoff. He hasn’t missed a beat in the am since then and I expect a top effort today.
R2 #9 Tejano Forever-Outside post pretty much sealed his fate in his debut. He gets the outside again today, but in this longer sprint he should get a better trip. Look for better today.
R3 #7 Hay Dan Man-Blinkers didn’t help him out of the gate in his last race. He had a few nice drills leading up to that, then ran evenly. Added distance shouldn’t hurt and he should get a decent trip today.
R4 #2 Intercontinental-Got buried in the lane in her last one. Bailey returns today at odds on. Serial bet key maybe.
R5 #9 Aerojack-Look for him to take control of the early pace here. Probably not the soundest of runners. Dangerous if he can clear early.
R6 #8 King of Legends-Didn’t break well in debut. Gets a big jock upgrade.
R7 #8 Norway House-Has yet to run a bad one. Should take to the turf, and this barn does well with this move.
R8 #5 Iced Out-Should get the pace he needs to set up his late run.
R9 #8 Yes Master-Blistered in the first half last out and almost lasted. Can’t see anyone that can step with him early so he’ll be tough to catch.
R10 #3 Connections-Barn is having a great year. This runner is bred to love the surface/distance. Look for him to move up here.
