I have an old laptop that I might have some use for but would like to completely erase everything and start all over again. Question- Is there an easy way to do this ?

if it came with a "recovery disk" run that and choose the "destructive recovery"

If it didn't ........you can just format it. Depending on the operating system, it can be done in seconds. But then you would have to reinstall an operating system. The recovery CD does all of this for you. Post the make and model number.......

Ralph- THanks for the reply. The laptop is a generic (Solis) and I'm sure I still have the recovery disk but will have to hunt it down. Will try what you suggested. Thanks again. Jack
