In case anyone is interested...

I just went to http://www.phoenixgreyhoundpark.com discovered they give away free past performances for their racing.

Too bad thoroughbred tracks don't do that on their websites.

--There's a few harness tracks that give free past performances on their websites as well, such as Windsor Raceway, Fraser Downs, Batavia Downs, Georgian Downs and Rideau Carleton Raceway. There may be some other harness tracks that do the same too.

THanks. It would be good to compile a list of tracks that give away free pps.

Phoenix Greyhound also has free streaming video. I know that some tracks have free video and some have free audio.

Would be good to have a list of these, too.

The difficulty would be keeping them up to date. Would be nice if someone had an online database of links that could be accessed by the public which also had the ability to be edited by the public if a link became outdated or changed.

This is the way the Del Mar pedigree website works (or used to work). I added a couple horses to the database that weren't in there. It was useful.

SW-JOHN,

There are a couple of sites that have compiled a list of links for free live video, for thoroughbreds and/or harness. However, I noticed at these sites, that many of the links don't work anymore and they haven't done any recent updating. More and more tracks are asking you have to belong to some betting company to access their free live video.

A good place to start for viewing free live video, is the ESPN horse racing site. While a fair number of free live video is available for the thoroughbred tracks listed there each day that racing is conducted, some of the tracks at this site require you to belong to betting companies like YOUBET.COM.

SWYJ,

I just noticed that besides PHOENIX GREYHOUND PARK having free live video, so does TUCSON GREYHOUND PARK.

I've bet the odd greyhound race in the past, but haven't bet one of those races for awhile now. Don't know how to handicap 'em. Interesting to watch some of these races on the internet for entertainment value though.

Here's the link to the TUCSON GREYHOUND PARK, if anyone wants to watch some of the greyhound races via live video.

Free PPs are available for Little Brown Jug week races at the Delaware County Fair. Go to the USTA website and follow the Brown Jug links.

There used to be a site that many of the greyhound tracks allowed to put free copies of their programs online at. I don't remember the name of it, but if it still exists, it can probably be found with some searching.

www.Rosnet2000.com (http://www.Rosnet2000.com)

It has FREE LIFETIME PAST PERFORMANCES for the majority of all USA greyhound tracks.

It also has some very cool pedigree information.

Like four years ago, I bought a 6 month old greyhound pup for $750 over the internet--got to choose from a litter of nine. The one I choose went 1-for-44 lifetime racing in New England---a female pup from the same litter actually won a "preview stake." It was a bad investment---but it wouldn't have been if I would have picked the right one from the litter.

Too bad thoroughbred tracks don't put their pps online for free.

Maybe when t-bred racing has the popularity of greyhound racing they will.
