JUST A REMINDER...
31 days from today, cell phone
numbers are being released to telemarketing companies
and you will start to receive sale calls.YOU WILL BE
CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS...

To prevent this, call the following number from your
cell phone: 888/382-1222. It is the National
DO NOTCALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It
blocks your number for five (5) years. Or you can register your cell at
http://www.donotcall.gov/

PASS THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS

Thanks Jimmy. The Tx. Do Not Call list worked well. I hope the national effort is just as effective.

BTW not answering unidentified calls (caller ID turned off) filters out a lot of these annoyances too.

Jimmy,

Boy do you get some reputation points for this!

I added 6 new cell phones that would have broken me!

Thank you for the heads up!

American Marketers.

Caller ID will read. 100 Free minutes! When you answer the gentleman will say... Mr Consumer I am calling to award you 100 free minutes, but before I do can I tell you about our special on office supplys. I'll give you 200 minutes if you buy at these DEEPLY discounted prices.

Many responses will be..... Shoot it at me, what do you have?

Marketers will buy 100 million minutes for .02 cents a piece and net-net it out for PROFIT! Boo-Yea America.

Sigh! I wish our Federal Government in Canada would pass a Do Not Call Registry. That would help get rid of those annoying telephone solicitors bothering me for either donations for some cause, or trying to sell me something.

I did a search and found out there is no such ruling allowing telemarketers to get cell phone numbers. But you can still do it,but reading the info privacy rules kinda made me wonder what those folks can do with the numbers registered. But that may be the anti govt part of me taking over.
