Good article. Confirms my point of view that computers have a huge advantage over people since the large number of biases discussed would not need to be overcome by the computer.

Agreed. That's a great article... it also reconfirms my belief that horseracing is one of the most efficient markets ever devised--which is also why its so diificult to beat, especially given the high transaction costs. I think anyone doing a long-term study of actual vice expected win percentages would be amazed, for very large samples the difference is often within tens or hundreths of a percentage point, which is truly amazing considering all the potential factors that could be considered.
