any place in downtown Philly to play the horses? or do I have to go out the Philly Park?

oh yeh. theyve got about 6 off track betting parlors in the phila area.
i say that because you might not need or want the downtown parlor.

but if your going there, ive not been to that one, others are pretty good in my opinion.

the one you want is on market street (1900), close to broad st. not sure of the exact address but it is very near the entrance to the trains.

its close to everything, easy to find

The Market Street OTB also has an entrance in the Suburban Station concourse. IIRC, the street level entrance only allows access to it's "clubhouse" (admission fee). If you want to enter the grandstand (free), you'll have to walk via the station concourse. Just follow the exit signs in the concourse leading to 18th & Market.

The South Philadelphia OTB is diagonally across from the Pattison Sports Center where all of Philly's sports stadiums are located. You can take the Broad Street Subway there.
