This time seems odd. Keep the Faith's 1:06.82 is nearly a half second faster than any 6 furlong race in Belmont's history. It broke the track record set 13 years ago. What I have a problem with is he only won by 2 1/2 lengths, which means Gulch Approval either tied or just barely missed the track record also. Blakelock was only .3 seconds off the previous record too.

Keep the faith's running line was: 22.48 22.00 22.34. That just seems very odd.

Doesn't seem odd when you look at the other times recorded in the turf races today. 2yo maidens went in 1:09 3/5. KTF and Gulch Approval have gotta be at least 15 lengths better than 2yo maidens.

Forgetting for a second that six lengths equals a second, I have to agree, and frankly there are very few six furlong turf races run in NY other than 2YO maiden races.

The turf times are faster than dirt times, especially in sprints, given how hard that course is right now.

On the other hand, that horse did give a fairly good indication of just how good the great Lonhro was.
