Picks for Del Mar Sunday:
R1 #6 Simply Because-No shame in losing to a stakes winner in his last start. Should be able to clear early, and gets P Val along for the ride today.
R2 #5 Ace Blue-May have had a mishap during his last as he faded badly in the stretch. Hasn’t missed a beat in the am since then and can make amends today.
R3 Pass. Bet against Frankel at your own risk
R4 #6 Excessive Balance-Sports a nice drill over this surface for comeback. Barn is adept with laid up runners.
R5 #2 Old Thunder-Been drilling like he’s a runner. Sire doing well with 2yo’s, Ok with FTS.
R6 #3 Sneak Attack-Didn’t run badly in sprint debut. Breeding says added distance should be ok.
R7 #1 Vikki’s Honor-Showed much talent in well bet debut. Has some nice am drills for return.
R8 #6 Qsar-Had too much to do when the frontrunner got away with soft early fractions. Seems to be an honest runner and the pace should be more to his liking today.
