Trainers Brian Koriner, Art Sherman and Jerry Hollendorfer need no introduction to winning races, especially for Northern California racing fans.

But when they have run horses at Del Mar, it's been much tougher
"getting up on their surfboards" so to speak.

Stats are from Jan. 1, 1995 on and include the last 10 Del Mar meets:

Koriner.....

18% overall (413 wins /2323 starts, all tracks, all races)

2% at Del Mar (1 for 45)

Hollendorfer.....

24% overall (2579 wins / 10,944 starts, all tracks, all races)

8% at Del Mar (17 for 205)

Sherman.....

20% overall (942 wins / 4,683 starts, all tracks, all races)

12% at Del Mar (24 for 195)

Party Arty Sherman is amazing. Even 12% at DM is okay, but of course if they're not paying $16.67 on average, nobody's getting rich.
Hollendorfer has only Vanbergian success outside of NCal. and Thistledown, it seems. It's all part of the profitable machine, though, I guess.

I seem to recall Dorf doing very, very well the two seasons he sent a string to Arlington Park.

Of course I forgot about AP. Esp. with young well-bred types with conditions; and he's usually loaded with them. DM and NY are a different story, for some reason.
