James Doohan died earlier today from complications from Parkinsons and Alzheimers.

I just read they are going to scatter his ashes in outer SPACE! Isn't that cool?

I always thought Scottie would have made a better captain than Kirk. He (meaning Doohan) actually had charisma which you needed to play off Spock and was a good charactor. Tough, smart, took no crap, but always had a smile and a quip.

Although I'm sure it's old news to diehard Trekkies, the obituaries for James Doohan noted that the line, "Beam me up, Scotty" was never actually said on any Star Trek episode.

I believe the "proper" line was "Beam me(us) up Mr. Scott".

disclaimer: I'm neither a trekee nor a treker :D

I always thought the Deforest Kelley character(Dr.McCoy or"Bones")played quite wel off of
Spock.
