Picks for Belmont Friday:
R1 #6 Schematic Design-Tired after setting a strong pace last time out. But he has shown in the past that he does not need the lead to run well. New jock may mean new tactics.
R2 #5 Elusive Glory-Although he was a closer in when last seen in a turf route, I believe that he can take the lead here in this paceless affair. He actually battled for the lead in his comeback race in a sprint, so there’s no reason not to believe he can open up early on this field. Gets a top ES jock on board today.
R3 #2 Looking Best-Chased some stakes runners when last seen at a one turn route. Was probably not persevered with in last effort when he had trouble.
R4 #1 The End is Clear-May be able to clear this field early from the rail. Shows some excellent drills since last.
R5 Pass
R6 #9 Miss Langfuhr-Had lots go wrong in debut and still won going away. Figwise she doesn’t match up well, so her price should be decent.
R7 #3 Rosenkrans-Chased a freak last time out. I think he’ll put forth a better effort today, the switch to Bailey adds to the appeal.
R8 #7 Big Apple Daddy-Took it on the chin while battling on a hot pace last time out. The pace situation looks much more favorable today.’
R9 #4 Judy Liner S.-Expect to see her battling for the lead here, as she has not shown any ability to pass horses. Gets a big jock upgrade for this.
