Picks for Belmont Saturday:
R1 #6 Execution-His only attempt at a one-turn mile was his best effort. And even though this is a low win % barn he does very well with the turf/dirt move.
R2 #2 Win With Beck-Should get a good trip sitting off the leader here. Gets Castellano today, a positive move as the T/J combo is around 30%.
R3 Pass
R4 #2 Heretic-Had no chance to close into a fast final fraction last out. Drilled well since then, and will most likely get a more honest pace today.
R5 #5 Mambo Minstrel-He will probably find the pace situation more to his liking today, as he had to chase a fast pace last time out when routing for the first time. Offtrack breeding is ok too.
R6 #7 Devilish Approach-He probably wasn’t well meant at all in debut. Taking a shot here for improvement with the move to sprint/dirt. Mud probably doesn’t hurt his chance either.
R7 Pass
R8 #5 Burnish-Off going gives her the edge here. Early pace should be honest enough.
R9 #7 Cluster Bomb-Another longshot I like today. His best races come on wet going. Barn also does well with offtrack runners.
