I recently received my 2 systems from RPM(EBAY). The main one is called Connect
Four and it only uses workouts as its criteria for horse selection. The rules
tell you to play 4 horses in a race so your investing $8 per race. That was
the come on in the sales pitch I received but when the system arrived they
also stated a way to play is taking the highest 2 odds and playing only 2
horses per race. They also include a handicapping method of about 3 or 4
rules in case you want to get down to 1 or 2 horses. Not me, I'm
going down to the race book and blow $ 8 a race because they tell me
I only need to have enough money for 8 races hence $64 Hmmm, maybe
I better start out playing only one track because at $64 a pop and 9 tracks
going today I would have to shell out $576. They also tell you there is a
good possibilty that you can win and still lose. You bet $8 and only collect
$4. They tell you though that this might happen but in the long run you will
come out ahead. How? They really don't say. Maybe I'll just buy a program
and let you know how I would have done using Connect Four on thurs July
7th.. I think I'll save the $8 a race until I actually see how this thing works.
As far as the selection method it is very simple. One subtraction step and
voila you have your play or should I say plays. They don't even tell you not
to play races with only 5 horses. I guess you should know what to do in that
case. I'll keep you posted on Connect Four for thurs july 7th. ;)

4 horses per race ? ? ?
:D If 4 horses per race is good, then 8 horses per race is twice as good. :D

"I've got a million of 'em." That goes for systems too. Ah yes, "There's one born every minute." Systems that is. Let us know how these babies turn out.
:) :) :) :) :) :)

P.S. I truly hope that RPM doesn't stand for "Ripoffs Per Minute"?

I worked thru the first 2 cards and much to my chagrin Connect Four must
have had a bad day. First at Belmont, I know there were alot of low paying
chalk horses but hey it all goes with the territory. According to the rules you
do not always bet 4 horse in a race and I did the complete card , hence,
I didn't stop after 8 races. Win betting only
Belmont
Bet $60 Won $ 27.30 Lost $ 32.70
Churchill
Bet $ 72 Won $ 42.60 Lost $ 29.40

Let me see if I understand. 4 horses per race....every RACE??
Now the favorite wins about 33% and the top 2 fav's about 50% and the top 3 fav's aprox 67%. It would "seem" that this thing hasn't much of a chance. Why not just play the bottom 4 odds horse every race and hope for the best?
Is this one of those deals that comes complete with a "workout" of a couple hundred races ?? IS THERE A GUARANTEE???:D

Sometimes you only have 2 or 3 qualifying horses so its not always 4 horses per
race. Also I think you would use your discression if the field was short and
the odds wouldn't benefit playing 4 horses.
Yesterday at Arlington the system lost $20 and at Hollywood it lost $28
There are other ways to play this system by using some quick handicapping
so today I will incoroporate that suggested way into my method of play.
I just can't see this thing winning unless you only play races with 8 or more
entries and catching a few bombs. I try to find something good about
any system I read about but this one is trying my patience :(

Play the ML top choice if 2-1 or better and toss the 2nd and 3rd. With the remaining three bets, play the ML 4th, 5th and 6th choice. I really don't think this method is going to work since your average payoff would have to be $17 or above even if at a close to 50% hit rate. If it did work ,it also seems that most of the lowest odds horses have got to be discarded. Perhaps a better test would come from the cheaper tracks.
Aggregate odds of 2/1,6/1,10/1, and 12/1 would be close to 8/1. Consider that the majority of wins would be at the 2/1 level witch might force an equality among the two highest odds horses with the 6/1 horse. Let us know.

Not to drift off topic, but wasn't it Jimmy Durante who was famous for saying "I got a million of 'em"?
