I'm interested in knowing when Horse Racing, i.e. attendance at tracks, handicapping activity, etc. slow down, or increase, during the year. Are there known periods? For example does activity increase over this 4th of July holiday, or does it slow down for barbecues, family acivity etc. Is the summer slower than the winter, etc. When is the activity greatest? Are there any data available on this.
Thanks

Why not query the NTRA?

No stats on this, just a seat-of-the-pants guess, but after the Breeders' Cup is a slow time until Santa Anita and Gulfstream open.

Overall, probably true, but one of the best days per capita has always been the Friday after Thanksgiving. Mom and Dad go shopping for value, they just go to different venues.
