Today's great horses are measured more by paper numbers than what they really are=very fragile-lightly raced-horses for courses.They say todays horses are running faster than horses from the past.This may be so on paper.But if they were up against Big Red-Slew..etc..I could go on forever.The race would be over in the paddock.These old tough boys(& Ruffian) would look them in the eye one time and it would be over.It's called Class- Leader of the pack- in the horses minds.Secretariat could run a BSF of 88 and he still would have beat these horse's on that alone. :cool:
