Dear Mr Minaya,
Rumor has it that you have been talking to Brian Cashman.
You can talk to Brian all you want just dont make this TRADE.

Pro's and Con's

Yes it would be nice to add some PUNCH to the Mets lineup. having Sheff
hit between Beltran and Floyd is intriguing. The Mets staff wouldn't have to
worry if the opposition got a few runs in the top of the first inning.
The Mets could mount a comeback. (Pro/Mets)

Well Yankee fans your Defense will be a Hell of a lot Better.
To many times this year your aging outfielders have let Balls drop in
for hits that should have been outs. ( Pro/Yankee's)

The Age factor Cameron 32 Sheff 36 (Con Mets) (Pro Yankees)
The Money side of things Both signed thur next yr Cameron 19M Sheff 39M

Dont think I want to pay some one 4 years older 20M more dollars.(Con Mets)
(Pro Yankee's)

Sheff has a good relationship will Willie Randolph ( Pro Mets)

Well all and all the Yankee's would get an elite athlete who would move from
right field to Center who will become one of the Top defensive
centerfielders in the AL. Who is 4 years younger and making $6-$7 million
less then Sheff. No Thank You

Signed

Mr Joyce ( Lifelong Mets Fan)

I said it before the signing, and I'll say it again, Beltran was the underlay of the century!

Definitely agree. Beltran played almost his whole career in KC in front of small crowds and no pressure and last year was obviously his contract year. Its amazing how often these guys fall off after the sign the free agent deal.

And, his big numbers came AFTER getting traded and playing in Ten Run field, pretty close to Coors.

Rumor has it Miguel Cairo has been added to the trade talks. I really hope the Mets don't go through with it. I like Sheffield as a player, and he brings a lot to the table, but Cairo's the starting second baseman, and Matsui hasn't done anything. If the Mets can find a prospect in the Yankee organization to bring over, maybe I'll change my mind. For now, I agree with Irish.
