Has anyone, including Bris, ever done a study of the difference between the TSN speed numbers and the BRIS speed numbers?

Which one is better????

TSN is cheaper, so there is a head start. Even if they aren't as good, they cost less ~G~

MyHorse1-

Are you sure that they are different?

They are definitely different, but the question is are they different in the same way?
That is, if BRIS gives a horse 80 90 90 87 for example,
does TSN give the same horse 74 84 84 81?

It would be simple to check, just spend the extra 50 cents to download the TSN file when you take the BRIS file.

I happened to have done just that for some races tomorrow (the TSN ones usually show up much earlier and it gives me a head start, but I use the BRIS for my software). I checked a few races for both files:

BRIS 64 52 71 61 74 75 72 67 84 79 90 75 68 71
"TSN 69 58 73 68 80 81 74 70 78 73 84 72 63 69

Obviously some sort of relationship (I would hope!), but probably not exactly linear. You think since they are both owned by the same firm, they could save some money and do it once.

I used the full card for Belmont 5/10/02 and grouped the data
by surface and distance. Diff = BRIS - TSN Low = min difference at the distance and surface HI = maximum difference

5.0 9.3 0 18 6
5.5 -3.0 -12 17 14
