his money is made in the KY circuit.
CD, ELP, KEE, FG.

If you see him anywhere else he is absolutely hands off!!!!!!!!
He also only average with turf races.

Last year was by far his best. This year he is running about even

Bob: You pointed this guy out previously and I have been watching and sometimes playing his horses in KY.

hurricane: Glad you noticed KY record--I agree with it and also that this year has not been as productive as one before.

All the best,

CapperLou

P.S. Who would you rank as the second most profitable trainer in past year or past two years?????

Colonial Colony at 60-1 in last year's Stephen Foster definitely helped boost Bindner's ROI.

In the stats that are used on my website, and the ones I cited about Bindner to start this thread, the high payoff for a trainer is automatically thrown out and discarded. If Colonial Colony was his high payoff, as I suspect it probably was, it was not counted in Bindner's impressive stats.

I would love to return to this guy in 12 months and see if he continues on a positive ROI thrust.
--Will the public catch on and bet him down?
--Could he go into a bad funk after such a good run -- everyone has good and bad cycles?

I wish we could set up this test. Take 25 trainers from Turfday's database -- at his choosing. follow whatever parameters he suggests (bet john smith on a layoff on Wednesdays at 6f or just bet John smith, etc.)

Or take only the best 15 if that what he thinks would work best. Whatever.

Think of it as a mutual fund and call it the "Trainer Mid-Term Growth Fund"

in 12 months, what will the ROI be for a $2 bet on all the plays?

I'm not being contrary or difficult, just really wondering how effective going forward some of these trainer patterns really are. that's all, just curious, not critical.

that's a good idea Andi,

As for Bindner,

2002 was a dismal year. Anyone playing him then would have likely stopped posting a .5 ROI. by the time you picked back up on him you would have missed half of 2003.

So you would have had a good season in 2004. all square through this year.

I like to take these guys and see what changed in thier barns to make a difference.
