Sounds like a whole lot of nuttin' to me. Same logo, same products, same basic layout, same Pizzolla.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say this "window dressing" has come about due to some legal wrangling that ensued after the death of Mr. Eric Langjahr.

But like I said, I really don't know any better...and this is just an edumacated guess.

Check out the site -- everywhere they have a word with an "its" anywhere in it, the computer program substituted "PostTime Daily."

example.hypothetically,..instead of the word "splits," they would have "splPostTime Daily"

I guess they did a find/replace on ITS without realizing it would change EVERY word with an "its" in there....

Looks like it was a real quick job....

Someone should tell Pizzolla to take down the outdated links already as well.

And did ANY of his Breeder Cup longshots do anything. (First time he noticed he wrote something last October).

Personally I wish them success. The more competition in this space and the greater the number of data suppliers the better. Remember the old Daily Racing Form monopoly and how crummy the print DRF was until The Racing Times and Equibase started competing? Walter Annenberg made a fortune off of owing the DRF for decades. The operating cash flow margin used to be more than 30%--almost as bad as the Yellow Pages.

I just talked to Doug Manley at Posttime Solutions. Basically, The only difference is a change of name and a software update. I have checked the files both new and old. They work with my programs, so there shouldn't be any difficulties if your software uses ITS/PTS files. Oh yeah, I forgot the ITS/split "change all". Yup, down and dirty programming.

The ITS web page was never much to write home about anyway. They could use a serious makeover by a good web designer. I had no problem with the download either.

I agree with PA, this is undoubtedly related to the death of Eric and the legal wrangling with his family.

Yeah PA you are right. But, If Magic ran off BRIS or TSN files we could all gain.

There is no more competition... just a change of name for one firm.

AND they are supplied by Equibase, the EXCLUSIVE supplier of data. Equibase decides on who can have data and how they pass it on.

Equibase doesn't tell Bris, ITS, DRF or HDW how to package or price the data. I would predict that if the HM or any of the other Pizzola products were supported by BRIS (or TSN--the samething) they wouldn't use the cheap files. Too many people want to get paid. Even Multicaps uses more expensive files. TSN is a discount brand developed by BRIS to counter no-frills competition or prevent entry in that product space. BRIS and DRF have both provided free information (results, scratches, entries) due to competition. Do you seriously think products would be cheaper with fewer providers. It is called Econ 101.

Steven Wright is funny as hell. He also came with this "I lost a $50 bill, so I made a reward sign. It said. Lost $50 bill, if found just keep it"

Just checked out I.T.S their comma delim charts end on 5-31 are they just slow or is this the end of the charts?.

I never used any ITS products except Danny Serra's excellent sire ratings (which I use religiously on certain tracks when they're wet-fast or sloppy), so it won't make much difference to me. I never saw a reason to pay $1.50 per race file when I could get as good or better data unlimited for $69-120 per month.

If Pizzolla is anything more than a con-man psycho-babbler, he will prove me wrong. But since he's already had 4 years to do that, I tend to doubt he will. Like I said before about THM, TMH, and to a lesser extent, TEH, I'm keeping them all, as a reminder of what not to do.

PA likes him...and he's there? He's been generous to PA members with his work.

I'm sorry to hear about the circumstances surrounding this enterprise.

I'm afraid its far to common than uncommon.

We had a supermarket chain around here called Demoulas. Two Brothers. One died, the other beat his Sister-in-Law and Nephews and Niece's out 100's of Millions. Not Millions.. 100's of millions. His brother died, he felt entitled to reap the rewards of a sole-proprieter..so he simply "took" what he thought was his. The Feds made him give 1.5 Billion back... But it showed me a very important lesson. The Zero's don't matter... when money is involved People get wierd.+

So Kreed,

No cute remarks here. Your post said "man sorry to hear you were scammed"....couldn't tell what post you were responding to.

If there's something that you know about the partnership between Eric L. and Michael P. that would shed some light on the truth.....I'd be interested in hearing it.

Otherwise, you're just someone espousing your opinion as the "truth"....

There was a long cut and paste post that got deleted by PA. It was a long diatribe from Eric's sister alleging that Michael Pizzolla stole money. I believe that Derek was responding to that post when it was still in the thread. Rferguson posted the link to the same info that was deleted.
