I saw the same thing on e-bay and couldn't believe it. Kinkier Handicapping definitely sold worse than Kinky Handicapping which was his first in that suggestive series.
Liked "Kinky," but never read "Kinkier," since I usually don't like sequels.

It's out of print, but $75! I can drink 5 beers at the track for that money.

I have this book, but not the first in the series. While I think Mark Cramer is one of the more interesting and creative published writer/handicappers around, I cannot see this book being worth $75. It gives like 4 or 5 profiles of, in his opinion, "against the grain" handicappers. Ed & Susan Bain and Mike Helm are a couple of the more well known examples.

Even though it was an enjoyable read there aren't many handicapping factors that I gleaned from it that I use today. It's possible it's out of print, but check Mike Helm's City Miner Publishing. You probably can get it for much less if still in stock.

If anyone here wants some capping books just say the word. They will be
on the way to you, gratis. And NO, I'm not gonna list them. If you want them
ok; and if you get them & find you already have them, just GIVE them gratis
to someone else. PM me if YOU WANT THEM --- not to just talk to me.

Guys, I mailed KINKIER & PMTR & TBRED CYCLES to PA guys, so they're gone.
Sorry. Now, another PA guy is getting like ~6 books, but I still got others
to give. Most of these I did NOT buy myself but was given & as long as they
find a player's home, I don't care, so I'm gonna list the remainders this week,
so if a title grabs your eye, just PM me. hehe i guess that the classics of
Quirin & Quinn don't play anymore, but there available too. -- Derek

Whether the price of $75 is justifiable or not is strictly a personal question and everyone will have to decide it for himself or herself. But I want to mention here one thing that Mark Cramer in my opinion is one of the best--if not THE best--American writers when it comes to authoring books on handicapping. Just like Andy Beyer is the best column writer or Quirin is the best statistical researcher.

I took classes from Mark and I have all his books. The kinky books
are OK-usues short samples to give contrarian spot plays. One of his better concepts is handicapping profits/per hour of time spent handicapping.

His early books were better. I think "Fast Track to Thoroughbred Profits" was probably his best and I believe that was his first one.

Funny thing about Cramer is that he spent a lot of time preaching about
not being dogmatic (or dealing in stereo types) and some of his writing in the last ten years was ...well dogmatic-at least about about making an odds line and his novel, "Hold All Tickets" dealt in stereo types-I guess it is just human nature for all of us.

All-in all Cramer is worth a read.

Is this the same guy who wrote for the old Gambling Times magazine?

He had a show parlay type article in one issue that I wish someone could

give the details on. He said you may wait weeks for a longshot but the

$2.80 and $2.60 show prices are there every day. I'm not sure if it was an

actual parlay but it was an interesting article. Of course, I either misplaced

or threw out that issue.

Fast Track still one of my favorites, too.

I met Mark at a bookstore in NYC back in 1990 when he was signing some copies of "Thoroughbred Cycles" > it was accidental, I was using the library NY public library on 5th and 42nd and was walking back to the subway. The skies opened and I ducked into a store...there were people talking racing though I never thought it would become a 15 year hobby!

Afleet Alex paid $3.00 to show in the Belmont. How is he going to run out of the money more than one time in three against those allowance horses?
