Its been reported today (fox sports on line) that police in Italy have
shut down a race track because of among other things race fixing.
Evidently, some horses were being drugged with viagra. Frankly, though
its a stimulant of some sort, I can't quite picture a horse running better
with a hard on. I wonder if pictorial evidence will be presented. MInd you
its probably safer for the horse than epo etc.

If you think about what the physiology of the drug does (VASODILITATION) it is not too far fetched. NO meds have a SINGLE physiological effect: they simply have the ones we want and many others that are called "side efffects."
Many drugs were developed for one thing and then subsequent clinical studies proved that they had a second beneficial effect. One group that comes to mind are the Beta-blockers: first designed to aid in effecting heart rate, it was found that blood pressure decreased as well. Now it is given for arrthymias as well as high blood pressure.

Studies of identical twins are beging to show the long term benfits of non steriodal anti-inflammatories in stopping Alzheimer's. One of the twins would be taking it for arthritis and NEVER develop the inflammatory by-products that muck up the brains of these poor patients while the TWIN, NOT taking the med, would. That seconday effect was discovered by looking a these twin studies.

Viagra has been shown to be helpful in pulmonary hypertension so it might be helpful to prevent pulmonary bleeding.

These type of post race positives are not new. New York had five of them in the year 2000 and this fact appeared in none other than the weekly sports magazine, Sports Illustrated.

A lady walks into a pharmacy...

Lady: Do you sell Viagra?

Pharmacist: Yes

Lady: Can you get it over the counter?

Pharmacist: I can if I take two.

Viagra was actually originally intended to improve blood flow to the heart. The puffers were a happy accident. Not that I..uhh..ehhhh.....

I've had success with the first-time-viagra angle, but only with stretchers.

In the link - I love the sentence under the photo: "Viagra was originally developed to help angina sufferers"

I couldn't help thinking - A man's wife takes Viagra when she's suffering from angina. And an impotent man takes Viagra when his wife's got a suffering vagina!

(Sorry, I couldn't resist, P.A.)
