Think Giacomo’s upset win in the Kentucky Derby (G1) on Saturday was a shocker? A fan at Turf Paradise lost—then found—a superfecta ticket worth $864,253.50. Thoroughbred Times (http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/todaysnews/newsview.asp?recno=54616&subsec=1)
The ticket was found by Brenda Reagan, a mutuel teller who sold Christopher Hertzog the winning ticket 24 hours before.
“I never knew I had so many emotions,’’ the 39-year-old Hertzog said. “I couldn’t believe I lost this once-in-a-lifetime payday. It’s unbelievable that it was found.’’
Actually, the unbelievable thing was NOT that it was found, but that it was actually returned to the rightful owner!
