Lost Derby superfecta ticket found a day later (http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/todaysnews/newsview.asp?recno=54616&subsec=1)
Think Giacomo’s upset win in the Kentucky Derby (G1) on Saturday was a shocker? A fan at Turf Paradise lost—then found—a superfecta ticket worth $864,253.50. Thoroughbred Times (http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/todaysnews/newsview.asp?recno=54616&subsec=1)

The ticket was found by Brenda Reagan, a mutuel teller who sold Christopher Hertzog the winning ticket 24 hours before.

“I never knew I had so many emotions,’’ the 39-year-old Hertzog said. “I couldn’t believe I lost this once-in-a-lifetime payday. It’s unbelievable that it was found.’’

Actually, the unbelievable thing was NOT that it was found, but that it was actually returned to the rightful owner!

Probably would have kept it, but didn't want to hassle with the IRS!

Probably cameras. Also there’s a good bit of info on the tickets themselves.

I’m aware of an incident where a bettor left the window before all of his tickets had come out of the machine. The next guy in line got the rest of the first man’s tickets as well as his own. I think they caught up to him in about 15 minutes and got the tickets back. When I heard about it I just assumed that they had it on tape.

So how much would you tip the honest teller? Got to be at least twenty bucks.

10% minimum

i always leave that to the girls, but then they want to come home with me

in this case, i'd give her $100 000, dinner, drinks+a weekend in Niagara Falls, and perform just about any sexual act she requested, regardless of her appearance.

The tickets are in numerical order and time stamped. Of course there is no way for sure to know the guy purchased the ticket unless it was on video. The teller said he was the only guy who bought quickpicks all day, so that's how she knew it was his.

They know which machine sold the winning ticket, and they know it was a machine generated randomly selected ticket. The teller identified the only patron that bought quickpicks from her window, so the guy became the rightful owner.
