Below is a link to an article that describes bringing down extortionists hitting on-line betting sites. The article is long and of no interest to most. Some here who run on-line businesses may find it enlightening. The network guys may find it a bit more interesting.

Thank goodness for altruism and the will to defeat evil at any cost.the company could have coughed up 40 k a year to the blackmailers ,but now they fork over 50 k to a software protection company.Wonder if this has ever been tried or is going on at wall street brokerage houses and we just don't hear about it.

I would think that if extortionists started hitting our financial institutions the gov would look into this big time.
