Racing information for 4 May 2005 - www.empowerisv.com (http://www.empowerisv.com)
12.09PM AEST - Ipswich R1 No1 Bread And Honey - 1.5% Win - Went with the well bred lightly raced Bread And Honey here. By top son of Danehill, Commands and won only public trial before 1st career start at Toowoomba over 900m. Only start finished 10.5l 5th Ipswich 1000m 3yo maiden when sat 2nd behind Rejuvanate Lass who won by 5 lengths. A couple of smart trial winners finished well behind it suggesting wasn't a bad effort. Katsidis engaged a bonus and outside gate no concenr as should have enough gate speed to cross and lead these. Will prove hard to run down over 800m trip from there whilst fresh. Empower ISV Factor - 84%

12.42PM AEST - Warwick Farm R1 No2 Only Vanda - 2.5% Win - This is a small field in a staying event so pace and tactics will dictate the scenario here. This should play right into the hands of our charge Only Vanda. Finally put it all together last start hitting top form over 1900m at Canterbury winning by 4.8 lengths with a good form reference and weight line through Emerged 7.2l 6th back to major query Princess Gemma, but at the weights today Only Vanda holds a 0.5k pull in the weights. From the smart Matthew Dale yard and is superbly bred by leading French based sire Linamix. Likely to go forward and dominate in the lead dictating as it likes. With the likely good run in transit it is hard to see them running the required sectionals to beat it home late. Should win. Empower ISV Factor - 92%

1.00PM AEST - Warrnambool R4 No4 The General - 1.0% Win - Leant towards the 3yo colt by General Nediym from the very astute Rick Hore-Lacy camp, The General. 1st up here and has been readied for this with a barrier trial 2nd over 1000m. Forget 2 runs on wet track last preperation. Go on big effort 5 back when freshened to win over 1000m at Flemington Open 2yo by 2.5 lengths over Samdolphin and Kentucky Wildcat. Suited by the 1000m trip and should get a perfe`ct trip right on the leaders heels. Hard to toss under the conditions. Do not back on a wet track. Empower ISV Factor - 80%

1.07PM AEST - Balaklava R2 No6 Rosey Dane - 1.5% Win - Hard to go past the classy Rosey Dane from the McEvoy camp here. 1st up from a spell and go on 1st up effort at 1st career start winning 1050m Gawler 2yo0mw. Won 2.9*1.3 lengths over smart ones Aerated and By My Side in a strong form reference for today. At 3rd career start 5 back ran 0.8 lengths 2nd to Deal Or No Deal with smart one Beautitude in 3rd. Very well bred by Woodman out of the good Danehill mare Rose Of Dane. Gets the same 1053m trip here today and at the weights in 1kg above the minimum looks the one to toss here. Empower ISV Factor - 85%

1.20PM AEST - Warwick Farm R2 No3 Melody - 1.5% Win - A weakish type of affair for this class midweek. A few seen chances on paper from 1st investigation but when an indepth analysis is done of the form references Melody comes out well vand truly on top and is likely to be suited by the overall race / pace scenario. 3rd up fitter now having 5th start including 1st up win 2 back Newcastle 1300m maiden, good effort and strong form for today. Last start finished 1.5l 4th of 9 Canterbury 1550m behind Princess Gemma. Well bred by Stravinsky and likely for the run of the race on pace under a slow to even tempo. Likely good value and hard to beat here. Empower ISV Factor - 82%

1.40PM AEST - Warrnambool R5 No7 Wotz Fong - 1.0% Win - Went with the lightly tried Dr Fong 3yo fily Wotz Fong in this. Put it all together last start 1st up 0.2*3.5 lengths with good margins back through the field indicating the overall depth. Well drawn, gets in well weighted and likely for a good run in transit midfield from the 1 alley. Fitter now and step to 1300m suits. Very good chance at the odds and worth being on here. Empower ISV Factor - 72%

1.57PM AEST - Warwick Farm R3 No3 Malayeen - 1.0% Win - From the Waterhouse yard and does look well placed here 2nd up. Fitter for 1st up effort and ready for this 1400m assignment now. Having 3rd start and has previously finished a very close 2nd to Kincharm in a trial giving a good reference to Flying Dansino and Chaude Roche as had penty left that day and could have won trial easily. Drawn outside gate but has good initial speed to go forward and cross without too much pressure. Very well bred by Anabaa and could prove hard to run down in the stretch at decent odds especially with gear change of cheekers on which will give the jockey a lot more control to settle. Empower ISV Factor - 77%

2.20PM AEST - Balaklava R4 No12 Windswept Autumn - 1.5% Win - An open type of staying affair on paper but we feel we may have found one at very good value that will be hard to toss in this. Gone with Windswept Autumn who is coming into this 2207m maiden in peak career form and peak fitness on the back of last start 0.3 length 2nd to Ninnid Murray Bridge 2200m Class 1. Good form references at the weights suggests has a minor pull over the other fancies including the McEvoy trained Bird Sanctuary. Well bred by Monolith (son of Danehill producing some nice types in SA where he is based). A lot of hidden upside about this one and could be very good value if the smarties don't catch on. Empower ISV Factor - 77%

2.37PM AEST - Warwick Farm R4 No8 Leondari - 1.5% Win - Decided to lean towards the well bred Lion Hunter 3yo gelding Leondari in this. 2nd up from a spell after 1st up effort 2.7l 3rd of 14 Wyong 1100m maiden. Suited by step to 1400m and fitter for the 1st up run. Waterhouse has bought this straight to town after that run and stable obviously thinks it is ready which is a good sign. Excellent trial form and if can producer best form then will give this a big shake at decent odds. A lot of hidden upside invloved here. Empower ISV Factor - 75%

2.55PM AEST - Warrnambool R7 No4 Jacques Le Naif - 1.5% Win - Hard to dismiss the chances of Jacques Le Naif in this 1400m Class 4. Comes into this race in top form winning 2 back Hamilton 1400m Class 3 over Jetset Girl by 1.3l with a further 4 lengths back to Sugarfeet in 3rd indicating the overall good depth of the performance. Franked that last start 2nd to You Go For Hugo with Perusen 3rd who since ran 0.1 lengths 2nd to Botero who won the country Cup at Sandown on Saturday. Top form references for today. The biggest query will be the overall lack of pace in the race but drawn in close so should settle slightly better than midfield. Oberste may be the query down in the weights and at the odds may be worth saving on. Empower ISV Factor - 83%

2.55PM AEST - Warrnambool R7 No11 Oberste - 1.0% Win - Very rarely do we do this but it is imperative to back Oberste here at the odds who could run a huge race for followers along with Jacques Le Naif. Likely to get a good trip on pace with one of the runs of the race under an even tempo and if can repeat effort 3 back when won a Bendigo 1400m Class 1 over Governor Macquarie and Galena Lodge will give this a shake. Led on ear that day and kicked well in the stretch to hold on. Could pull it off again today. Bonus with the addition of winkers for this run. Empower ISV Factor - 69%

3.13PM AEST - Warwick Farm R5 No7 Bolshy - 2.0% Win - Hard to go past the well weighted Bolshy in this top class mid week 1000m sprint. Gets in well weighted and liokely to get a good run in transit leading or on leaders heels. Last start came off a 73 day let up over 1150m to lead and get nailed 2.5l 3rd by Lamborghini and East West Success. Good career record of 7-2-0-3 and was a 5 length trial winner over Magsaya before last run. Well bred classy type who will give this a big shake at the weights today. Empower ISV Factor - 80%

3.35PM AEST - Balaklava R6 No3 Miss Rodgers - 2.0% Win - Once again from the McEvoy camp but does look the class runner here and worth beingo n 1st up from a spell. Gets in well weighted with only 54kg and is well drawn to go forward for a good run in transit over the 1607m trip today. Broke maiden over same distance 6 starts ago in impressive fashion. Facing a big class drop here and now has blinkers off which is a big bonus. Totally forget it went around last start as is better than than. Well drawn for a good run on pace and will prove hard to hold out. Empower ISV Factor - 81%

3.50PM AEST - Warwick Farm R6 No6 Spurboom - 1.0% Win - Hard to dismiss the flying spur 4yo gelding Spurboom in this. Lightly raced improver who has won last two on end including big effort 2 back breaking maiden status 6.1*4.7 lengths in huge effort over 1400m at Canberra. Same track and ditance again next start when bolted in once again eased down by 2.3 lengths. Form references suggest has a weight pull over toppy Warm Ride and likely for a good run in transit. Well weighted, capable of improving again here and should give this a big shake with plenty of upside. Empower ISV Factor - 78%

4.14PM AEST - Balaklava R7 No1 Vain Cheval - 2.0% Win - Went with the Stuart Gower trained Vain Cheval here over the 1207m trip in Class 2 company. drops sharply in class on recent runs and go on big effort 3 back Oakbank 1100m Class 6 when defeated Imperial Mist and Scarey Smokevic by tight margins but a good field. Gets top weight but benifits from claim for apprentice. Well drawn for a good run in transit midfield and with a superior turn of foot can unleash the best late race pars and get home over the top to win. Empower ISV Factor - 85%

4.50PM AEST - Warrnambool R10 No5 Mint Royal - 1.5% Win - Decided to go with the lightly raced improver Mint Royal in this 2000m 3yo Class 5. Very well bred by Redoutes Choice and suited under the conditions and in very well at the weights. Put it all together 2 back breaking maiden status over 1609m at Sale 1.5*2.3l in a impressive effort. Then last start was unlucky not to win when 2nd to Mr Big with 2.5*3 lengths back to 3rd and 4th. Another big effort. Barrier no concern as will go forward early under a slow to even tempo for a very good run on pace. Gets the ticks and worth the punt with a lot of hidden upside in that last start 2nd. Empower ISV Factor - 79%
