page 106-7: Friendly Royalty is a steady closer and likes dirt routes. It won the dirt route.
Fleet Stone was 2nd, won when up in weight due to a win early Jan 1981 off the PP's so was the best horse. FS is rushed back to race too soon, and had a 6f work only 4 days prior to this losing effort.
He Man Sam has chronic leg problems. You can tell because of the steady speed figures drop after after pullingup his 4th career race. He won after 2 consecutive 2-month layoffs, then was off 5 months with more problems. Trainer Dorman, kept him dropping and racing every 2 weeks, thought he just needed a lot of work and worked him 4f 11 days after the last race, then rushed him into this one 3 days later. He finished show again with another speed figure drop. If he wins I say he would need more rest and/or and even cheaper race.
If anyone has the book let me know if you think I am reading the PP's correctly. Thanks!
