With AP opening in two weeks, they've announced some "new" bets.

1- $100,000 GUARANTEED pool for Tri's on all Turf races run on Fri, Sat or Sun.

2- One dollar doubles (part wheels). They always had a $2.00 minimum

3- Ten cent Supers.

This is a major "sea change" for an "organization" like AP. They are usually years behind the industry with any innovative changes. Could turn out to be an interesting meet. Although, the initial purse structure is actally lower than HAW's. which does NOT bode well.

The problem with the purses is they push so much into Million Day, and the carpetbaggers from NY, SoCal and Europe come and take the money.

But I wouldn't say AP was behind the times. When they re-opened in 1989, they were one of the first tracks to institute exactas and tris on every race and none of this $5 minimum exacta crap that they used to have in SoCal. I think they started P3s around 1990. I know one thing: I liked their direction better under Duchossois than under CDI.

Great news.

Glad to see a Churchhill Inc track pick up the dime super can HOL, CRC and CD be far behind?

Maybe one of these tracks will get the idea to at least test some of these betting formats to ON TRACK patrons only.

They claim they are always looking for ways to increase live gate, well this could be a way.
